Vorkuta – Moscow: race with train
A year has not yet passed from the trip while after becoming warmer “ice road” was failed to cover, traveler Vitoldas Milius met the possibility “to take revenge” on nature. Only in this case the route of the trip was opposite – from Vorkuta. In order to make the trip more pleasant, he decided to compete with the train “Vorkuta – Moscow”.
Whereas the trip was arranged thoroughly one year ago, at present everything happened unexpectedly. Acquainted Belorussian journalists were travelling over Russia preparing reports and often staying in different cities. Knowing about Vitoldas Milius wish to cover “ice road”, they invited him to travel together, but Vitoldas Milius had no time for a few week trip. Therefore he arrived to Vorkuta by plane when Belorussians have already reached this polar city. The colleagues tired from the trip gladly transferred him the steering wheel of ”Range Rover”.
Departed from Vorkuta railway station on March 31, 2013 at the evening, at the same time as the train from Moscow, travelers covered 3000 km and reached Moscow railway station approximately after 43 hours – faster than after two days, furthermore, overtaking the train 4 hours .
Route: Vorkuta – Moskow
Purpose of the trip: to pass Ice Road and to compete with train.
